Kensington Palace
Kensington Palace became a royal residence in 1689 when William III and Mary II bought Nottingham House and had Sir Christopher Wren enlarge it. It was the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria and remains a working royal palace set within Kensington Gardens.
