Nelson's Column
Nelson's Column has stood at the centre of Trafalgar Square since 1843, commemorating Admiral Horatio Nelson, who was killed at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Designed by William Railton, the granite Corinthian column rises about 52 metres and is topped by Edward Hodges Baily's statue of Nelson.
