Somerset House

Somerset House was built from 1776 by Sir William Chambers as a grand neoclassical block of government offices, replacing a Tudor royal palace on the Strand. Its riverside quadrangle now hosts arts and cultural events, with a fountain court that becomes an ice rink each winter.
